Saving emails as files in Windows Explorer folders

I use MS Outlook extensively and had built a large folder structure to manage
many different activities. This worked well and the .pst file grew to 4+GB
in size. I recently had a change of computers and was unsuccesful with the
import of the old .pst file and I am guessing that it was because of the
size. My new strategy of retaining documentation was to save emails as files
but drag and drop will only apply the subject line as the file name. Using a
menu selection of "File-SaveAs-ReName-Save" is too time consuming for the
volume of email. Q-. Is there a better way to save emails to word file or
document to keep the Outlook .pst smaller? Any help will be much appreciated

What version of Outlook are you using? Only the older versions, Outlook 2002
& earlier, had the 2 GB maximum size cap on the PST. The newer versions can
become quite large.

Outlook on both machines. The file was allowed to become quite large but
when I tried to import it the import failed as did several diferent pst file
retrieval utility programs. I liked the idea of dropping the file into its
respective project folder on my hard drive as a more intuitive and
comprehensive file and communications receptacle.

Why not use an archive pst to save you older messages? You can make pst for
different projects, quarters, or years.

If you have Acrobat, you can use their package macro to make a pdf of
emails. This works especially well for archiving related emails. Other
