Saving items added to Quick Access Toolbar

Some of my collegues have reported that they add items to the quick access
toolbar but it doesn't save them. They have to add them again each day. How
can I help fix this.

Quick Access Toolbar customizations are stored in *.qat files in the user's
profile, such as C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Office

BUT note that it's stored in the Local Settings. If your colleagues have a
roaming profile then their QAT customizations won't travel with them. If
that's not it then they may not have the necessary permissions to update
files in their profile or it may be reset each time Windows restarts.
