Saving location for attachments

Hi - I am working with Word & Outlook 2003.

I am constantly saving documents that come to me as attachments in emails in
the same folder on my desktop but everytime I go to save a new file, it
automatically opens my temp folder.

Can I change this to open to save to a different location or is the temp
file the default save location and cannot be changed?

Click the paper clip icon and choose Save. It will default to My Documents.
Do not open the attachments first.
