I'm typing the information directly into my table. I
have no problem with my original table, but Access won't
save the material that I put into my linked table. It is
linked in a one to one fashion. No, I am not getting an
error message. I type in the information, but as soon as
I leave that table, it's gone!
Table datasheets are of VERY limited value.
By "linked table" do you mean a) a table in a separate .mdb file,
linked using File... Get External Data... Link Tables; or do you mean
b) two tables in a one-to-one relationship? If the latter, then you
may want to reconsider your table design. One to one relationships are
VERY rare (if you don't recognize the terms "subclassing" or "RWOP
queries" you probably don't want to be using one). If you're putting
data into a table datasheet in the "child" table, it will only store
that data if there is a matching record in the "parent" table; you
*should* get a warning message, but it's possible that you have
inadvertantly turned them off.
What are these tables? Why the one-to-one? Are you editing the second
table directly, or a Query joining the tables?
