Some questions about working offline.

What's the pocedure when user opens project from server, saves it offline,
then saves it online?
Is it safe to close Project prof. 2003 or computer after the file is saved
Offline?
Where exactly does Project prof. 2003 save the data in these steps?

What's the difference between SaveOffline-SaveOnline and

Jason,

Open the project as usual, select File>Save offline. That's it for
that part.
Is it safe to close Project prof. 2003 or computer after the file is saved
Offline?
Yes, it's entirely safe to close Project and shut down the computer
when you save offline. This is useful if you have a laptop and want to
work on a project at home. To access the offline plan, open Project on
your machine, select Work Offline, and File>Open to open the plan.
Where exactly does Project prof. 2003 save the data in these steps?
Project saves the offline file in an obscure directory that you don't
need to worry about, because you open the file through Project, not
from the directory.
What's the difference between SaveOffline-SaveOnline and
SaveAsFile-Save(Publish)
Save Offline maintains the connection to the server. When you save it
as a .mpp file, you remove the connection to the server. The original
plan remains on the server, and now you have a copy as the .mpp file.
If you make changes to the .mpp file and want to use that version
instead of the published version, the Project Admin must remove the
published version from the server and you then have to reimport the
..mpp version. Much simpler just to work with the offline version that
still remains on the server.
