Saving Passwords in Outlook XP ?

N

newtothis

Hello all,

I'm using Office XP on my home PC running XP Home and I've run into a little
problem with Outlook. For some reason one of my account was deleted without
me doing anything in the email account tab (or anywhere else). I just
stopped receiving messages and went into that tab to see what happened...the
account was no longer there. I had a couple other accounts that were still
there, but no longer receiving emails either.

I had to recreate/reconfigure the accounts. I'm still having problems as
Outlook will no longer remember my passwords. Each time it checks for
messages it asks me for my password (even though I make sure to check "save
this password in your password list").

I had this problem once before and someone gave me a link to instructions to
change something in the registry. That solved the problem, but I don't
remember how to do it.

Thanks in advance for any and all help...

For all Outlook versions on Windows XP (note, this article is written for OE
but the solution applies to Outlook as well. Just ignore the parts that
refer to OE):
