saving pdf file as Word or other format

Can anyone tell me how to save a pdf file as a Word or
other document format, please?

Hi Donald,

OCR software can read the text within a PDF and interpret as text that can
be used by other applications. ReadIrisPro, OmniPage & FineReader come to
mind.

To which, I'll add that the Panther version of Preview lets you copy
text or graphics but not both at once.

However the text paste into Word destroys the formatting - all you get
is the words.
