Saving Plan from Project Pro 2007 to Server 2007

After retrieving and working for several hours on a plan, saving frequently,
I get this a job failed error in Project Pro 2007

The Following job failed to complete
Job Type:
Save Error ID: 20010(0x4E2A)
Error Desc : You do not have sufficient permissions to perform the requested
action

The project could not be saved to the server. Please retry saving the
project. If it problem persists, save the project as a MPP file and contact
your sys admin

As an Admin, I have seen this intermittent problem on several schedules &
users. I suspect it might be network connection problem, but I am not sure.
Any ideas on what to look for. There are no changes to user permissions etc..
In every case, I have force checked-in the schedule and the user lost update
after the last save.

Appreciate any insights

This smacks of a lost session, so I believe your suspicions are correct that
there's something amiss with the network.

I had another incident where the user could no longer see any plans in the
user's cache (is was empty), however, when I look at the cache folder thru
Windows Explorer

C:\Documents and Settings\userid\Application Data\Microsoft\MS Project\Cache

I am guessing a registry setting got corrupted?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say/ask here. You can always delete
everything under \microsoft\ms project\ to clear the cache and the system
will rebuild it.

Sorry, let me clarify.

Via Windows Explorer, I see the cache folder and content (.mpc files). Via
Project Pro Tools\Local Project Cache\Cache Cleanup it's blank/empty.

I've had this problem several times lately. I'm not completely sure it it is
the same scenario, but I was working on a file yesterday and had saved it
several times. I needed to go to a meeting, so I disconnected my laptop from
the network to take it with me without checking in the file. At some point
my computer crashed. I assumed I lost the information and came here to look
for how to recover.

Taking a hint from another post, I changed my MS Project to offline mode
then went to open enterprise projects. The project was marked awaiting
checkin. I opened the file from there and all my saved information was
available. Perhaps this was a fluke, but I'd made several changes to the
file while my computer wasn't connected to the network, so none of the saved
changes could have come from the draft on the server.

Next time give that a try and see if it works. Let me know if my
explanation isn't clear.

Best.

Not so fast, one down, one to go...

Though I was able to get my changes, now the file says it is read only and
when I go to check back in the file, it says I need to rename the project.

I really don't want to publish the project anew. I guess I can save the
project locally and import the changes into the main project again, but this
seems like there should be a better way. Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks
