Saving PPT to CD

In my previous post I forgot to say that when I try to package my
presentation to a CD or do it from a folder I get the error message that my
files cannot be copied and that my CD may not be usable. I always use a new
blank CD-R. I can't understand why the first few times I put my presentation
on a CD I didn't have any problems and it won't do at all.

My presentation has audio with it in mp3 format. I have slide transitions
and they are timed to go along with the song. Can anyone tell me why
sometimes the timing is perfect and at times it is off? Thanks.

Just because you have a CD Player on your system. You may not have a CD
Writer. Have you burnt CDs before?

OK - I know this sounds too basic, but this same thing happened to me once on
my laptop. To resolve the problem, I removed the CD, then I rebooted my
computer. I've not had a problem since...

If you have done it before I would then check your CD burner software and
make sure that it recognizes your CDR The problem may be hardware related.

So, lemme make sure I understand. When you do File|Package for CD and choose
to package to a folder, you get an error message then, too?

K

Yes, when I try to do it from a folder and the wizard comes up and I start
going thru the steps I get the message that it can't be done and that my Cd
may be unusable the thing is I have used the same brand of CD's and thaey
have worked before.

Wait, what exactly are you trying to do *from* a folder? I'm talking about
opening PPT and using File|Package for CD and choosing there to package to a
folder. When you do that, package to a folder on your harddrive, not on your
CD. You can burn the CD later using your CD burning software. Right now,
we're trying to get the actual packaging process to work, and to do that, we
need to take the CD out of the mix.

That's what I have done. The folder is on my hard drive and I still get the
error message when trying to use the wizard for putting my ppt on a CD from
the folder.

I'm sorry, I'm still confused.

First go to your C drive proper and create a folder called test. So you'll
have C:\test

Then go to File|Package for CD and click Copy to Folder -- you should get a
dialog box with an option for folder name and location. If you use something
like kcwbwCD for the folder name and type in C:\test\ for the location,
click OK and then click Close, do you then receive an error message?

Go to C:\test\ and see if you now have a folder kcwbwCD inside it. If so,
look inside that folder. There should be a PPT file, an autorun.INF file,
pptview.exe, and some other DLL files and stuff. You want to burn those
files to CD using yoru CD burning software.
