Saving Project Pro 2003 to Project Server 2007

As a part of the upgrade, we are moving all our schedules from Project Pro
2003 to Project Server 2007. I am using Project Pro 2007 to move the
schedules in Project pro 2003 to the Server. I can either use the Import to
enterprise option, map the resources, map the tasks and finally save the
schedule to the Server. or, I can open Project pro 2003 in Project pro 2007,
Do a Save As directly to the Server, and then publish the saved file to the
server. Either os the above actions saves the schedules to the Server. Can
somebody please let me know the difference for the above two actions?

Hi Kannan, both methods achieve the same result, and both check the validity
of the file, resource names etc. If anything, the Wizard is a more formal
walk-through, and gives you the opportunity to use a pre-defined map for
mapping local -> enterprise fields. For ad-hoc imports, I prefer the 2nd
method.

Thanks for the reply Ben. I have a small question around the second option.
When we do just a Save of the schedule in Project Pro 20033 to the Server
2007, only the contents of ths schedule is pushed to the server. But never
the users. Correct? When this being the case, if i should allow users who are
assigned tasks in the schedule, to update thro the Server, then i should end
up creating all these users manually in server, assign them appropriate
permissions to update tasks in schedules. Correct? is this a correct
approach? Please let know if you would require more clarity around the
question.
