Saving to Word 5.1

In the past, if someone used inserted symbols on a pc, you could sav
the file as a Word 5.1 file on a Mac and have the symbols in symbo
font. However, in Word X, this no longer works. Anyone seen this

You will find much more information about this on the Mac-specific word
newsgroup. I thought I just saw a solution for this problem go by, in
fact, although it may have been for Word 2004.
