Saving Word Docs

I have just started experiencing this problem and have run
all virus checks and searched for available patches to no
avail. When I save a word document, the file name will
only accept 1 letter. Once I save it, I can go back and
rename it to a longer name. If I need to update this
document later, when I save changes the file name reverts
to the first character only. Does anyone know how to fix
this?

This is a symptom that you are operating Word under Windows XP set to
Windows (95 or 98) Compatibility mode.
