Says I need to put in Office disk & run setup

When I try to use a Microsoft application -- in this case Excel -- I get a
message saying I need to insert the disk my Office 2003 was loaded from so my
system can run setup. When I insert my disk and click OK, nothing happens.
Any idea what the problem could be, or where I might find helpful info?
