scaning to word

You're going to have to learn how to create forms and unless that form isn't
critical now (or you're a really fast learner), it's going to take some time
before it's done. How many times to you consider over and over again? Is it
possible that your document is already available as an electronic version?
Have you checked?

How do I scan a document so I can set tabs and fill it out over and over
again?

I printed the document 30yrs ago. I've been filling it out (by hand) 3-4 times a day, 360 days a year. I hope to do this for 30 more years. I thought there would be a program that would let me scan a document to my computer, go to set tabs, and click the curser where tabs would start and finish throughout the document. With all the things my computer can do, this couldn't be that taxing. My guess is that; it's a simple program, but the secret society of tab makers is holding it back.

No secret handshake or anything like that. When you "scan something",
it's nothing but an image, "a picture of the paper item", you can either
convert it into a form/document with an Optical Character Recognition
(OCR) program and then insert your data fields to tab between OR, you
could just Insert the image as a background to a blank document, and
then place Text boxes at the locations you need to insert text by
typing. YOU will need to decide what you want to do. You may look up
these items in Word Help if you need guidance.
