afte I have installed MS OFFICE PRO 2003, Everything works fine EXCEPT, the FIFLE pull-down menu selections "Acquire Text" & Acquire Text Settings" do SQUAT-NOTHNIG-NADA???

Those menu items are added by your scanner utility. You need to take the
problem to the scanner manufacturer's support site and see if they have an
update that works with Office 2003.
