Scanning Document into MS Word I Get an Error

Scanning a document with my OCR software (HP director) I try to
transfer/apply it to MS word but as the transfers finishes MS Word performs
an error and shuts down. There is no error code indicated you just says MS
Word has performed an error and closes!
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? If so thank you in advance!

My first suggestion would be to contact the scanner manufacturer, unless you
were having issues with Word when you weren't scanning.

If you're scanning a multiple page document using a document feeder on your scanner see if you get the same result scanning only a
single page without the feeder.

Also check to see what happens if you use the MS Office Document Scanning app (optional install through the Microsoft Office XP/2002
and 2003 editions) through Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel.
