I can't believe I didn't think to search for hidden files.

Thank you both very much for all your help with this. I may not be able to
recover my old .pst file, but now that I have my nickname list, I at least
have access to all of my important contacts.

Well, here is a solution that worked for me !!!
Take the corrupted PST file to a computer that runs Outlook 2003.
Operate SCANPST.EXE of the outlook 2003 on your file.
Tada !!!!!!! It will fix the file !!!!
