SCANPST

Kavkaz

I have a user who has a .PST file just shy of a 1GB which contains 10 folders
within it. When she tries accessing anything in this PST her Outlook (2003)
freezes and needs to be restarted. I ran SCANPST on the file and it did
detect errors and the repair did run successfully but the problem persists.
If I run SCANPST again it will still find errors. Is there no way to detect
where in the PST it found the errors? If I knew this I could cut out the
problem. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-K

Hello Kavkaz,
you might face this due to couple of reasons i.e. corrupt e-mail, profile or
pst .
Try with some basic steps rather than running scan pst often.
Since you specified that outlook runs slow.Try
disable some of the add-ins manually and check.
Work in windows safe mode. ( some third party add-ins scans the e-mail while send and receive)
Create a new profile
without any problem, then follow the article to crop the data ( some of the
data will be lost if outlook finds certain e-mails causing the problem.

Hope you can understand the terminology , if not please let us know.

Have a nice day:)
