Scattered Contacts & Empty "folders"

Similar issues in both Outllook XP and Outlook 2003 connected to Exchange
2003, data files are on server "Mailbox-"user name". Problem -- Compose new
mail, click "To:" on the message, choice of Global Addr List / Contacts /
Contacts in the drop down. Adresses can be found in one of the Contacts
choices, but not in the Contacts folder of Outlook (in either the shortcut
view or the folder view), and the other Contacts is blank/empty. How, why
might these be separated and how can they be combined (Outlook contacts
folder and where ever the other addresses are stored)? And how can I remove
the extra contacts choice from the drop down?

Remove the Outlook Address book from the profile. Restart Outlook, then add
the Outlook Address Book service back in.
