Schedule Update Option(s) for Project Server

If my contractor can't access my server, what other options do I have to
update the schedule status? In talking with other people, I understand there
are only two options:

1) manually update
2) replace and delete the original upload schedule

Please advise if there are any other ways to update schedule status in
project server when the file is received from an external source.
