Scheduling Meeting with Mac & PC Users

I'm hoping someone can help me. Both Mac and PC users at
the office use Outlook. However, they're not integrated,
so no one can book meetings through Outlook.

I'm hoping someone can at least tell me the version or
point me in the right direction. If I've hit the wrong
newsgroup, I apologize.

Thanks,
Amanda

Hi Amanda!

I don't quite understand what you mean by "they're not integrated", but so
long as both use Outlook, they can send each other meeting notices, etc.

Are you possibly referring to Outlook Express? If so, this is not the same
as Outlook, which requires Microsoft Exchange software to run on a Windows
server. Outlook Express is a stand-alone email client with support for email
and newsgroups, but not for calendaring tasks.

Hope this helps! bill

Bill,

Thanks very much! I think you've figured out the
problem. One last clarification. In order to have
integrated calendar ability, we must have Outlook
installed on all Macs as well as Microsoft Exchange
Software. Correct? I have to suggest this at a meeting
next week.

Thanks again for your help.

I've found out that we are indeed using Mac OS 9.2. Thank
you for informing me that Outlook 2001 works for this OS.
Is there a particular Outlook that's needed to comply with
Outlook 2001 for Mac. Ie, Outlook 2002 is needed, does it
matter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Amanda

Amanda,

it all goes through the Exchange server, so the clients other people
use shouldn't matter much.
