Scrap existing RBS

Another method is to insert the RBS values you want to
move to into the existing RBS. Your next step will be to
ensure that ALL of your resources have been assigned to
the new values.

Once ALL your resources are re-assigned, you can delete
the old values.

The reason you have to reassign all of your existing
resources is that if you delete values that resources are
assigned to errors will occur.

Hi,

I have taken charge of our organisation's EPM systems
including Project & Project Server 2002, and it is quite
clear that the original RBS has been set up
inappropriately and basically I would like to completely
rediesgn it and start again!! It was originally set up
using actual resources
i.e.
1.0 Bob Smith
1.1 Bob Smith Resources
1.2 Bill Bloggs
1.2.1 Bill Bloggs Resources
2.0 Ann Jones
2.1 Ann Jones Resources

Far from ideal and quite inflexible, so I would like to
redesign using Deparmtents and Teams. Can anyone tell me
if this is possible and if so what would be the best way
without disrupting the current live system anymore than
is necessary? Would there be any loss in functionality?
What are the risks involved? If it helps I am intending
doing a complete redesign of the Roles, Groups,
Categories as well.
