Scratched CD

Mary

I scratched my Microsoft Office Premium 2000 CD which includes FrontPage and
can't find a number to call MS for a replacement. Does anyone know the
number? Thank you.

If you're desperate and need it a hurry
you can *try* this: Polish out the scratch.
You'll need a mild abrasive such as Soft Scrub
or one of those "gelled" cleaners and a good paste wax.
Remove / reduce the scratch with the cleaner and then
remove the fine scratches with the paste wax.

If the scratch is all the way through to the aluminum surface
it won't work though.

I've done it. But then I was in the middle of no where
with no alternatives ( On an Aircraft Carrier at sea )

Make sure you work from the center out when you attempt to polish out the
scratch. DO NOT go round and round as you would cleaning a record. A good
polishing compound to start with is toothpaste.

Just don't sue me when your teeth fall out :)
