Screen goes blank when using Office 2007 on Battery

I run windows XP.I recently upgraded to office 2007. I notice that whenever I
am running my laptop on battery and using any of the office tools, it
suddenly goes dark as if the brightness is reduced.Nothing brings it back
untill I restart the computer.This started after my upgrade to office 2007.

Sounds like the additional CPU load from Office 2007 is causing your
laptop to go into power reduction mode. Perhaps you could contact the
laptop vendor tech support to find out how to adjust those settings.
