I'm having a problem with a filter using Microsoft Access 2003. When I apply
a filter, the screen regenerates by scrolling down record by record rather
than just totally refreshing. This also happens if I bring up something else
on my screen that doesn't cover the screen entirely. An email, for instance
will block out only part of the screen, so only that portion of the screen
regenerates record by record. When the filter is lifted, the regen still
scrolls until I close Access altogether at which point I normally get an
error message and am asked to save a backup version. These problems only seem
to happen when there is (and has been) a filter applied.
The database I'm working on is housed on a subcontractor's server and I have
to VPN to get to it...could this be the problem? Could the amount of RAM
available on my computer be the problem?
