Screen resulution and how your page displays

I've been using FP for some years now and have never really had screen
resolution problems. However, someone commented on a page I am working on
for a friend, saying it looked awful on his widescreen laptop. When I saw a
screenshot of the page, indeed it did.

Are there any simple tips for ensuring a page looks presentable at the most
popular resolutions ?

Build your page layout in tables, and not in layers
