screen tips for endnotes

When I place my cursor over an endnote number, the screen tip flashes, hard to read. How can I keep it constant?

This is a bug in Word 2002. The workaround (odd though it seems) is to turn
the Document Map on, then off. This must be done once for each
document-session.

What an idiotic bug not to have fixed already! I work at a university and
this gets used all the time. Thanks for finding a way to work around it!
