Scroll-lock and Numeric-pad-lock are 'Permanently' Locked

Hello.

==> How can the scroll lock be toggled off?

I tried a couple of things I know to unlock the scroll-lock indicator at the bottom of the viewing pane in Normal view. In Word, for example, the type-over function is turned on or off by simply clicking on the little rectangle at the bottom right of the viewing pane (with a grey/green toggle button and 'OVR' text). The same thing doesn't work in Excel.

I don't mind the numeric-pad lock but the scroll lock is actually slowing down the pace at which I can work because I have to constantly switch from keyboard to mouse and back.

Thanks in advance.

It depends on your keyboard layout. On mine for example (macally iMediaKey)
the Scroll Lock is toggled by Shift+F14, Num Lock by Shift+Clear. On my
Macbook Pro it's a different story. You'll need to determine what works for
you accordingly.

BTW - I'd suggest leaving the Num Lock ON... You can't rely on what is now
the *secondary* functionality of that group of keys to be addressed to do
what you *expect* them to do - Mac or PC:) use the Navigation Key group
instead & just ignore the Numeric Keypad if you don't use it for number
entry... But again, keyboard layouts vary - especially with laptops.
