Then no, you can't freeze some columns while others scroll in the way I
think you originally meant. However, if you were interested in "freezing" a
small number of rows in, say, the first 4 columns, you could split the
screen and maybe that will suffice for what you want to do. Try this and
see. Let's say you wanted to "freeze" the range A1

5... click into cell E6
and then click Window/Split on Excel's menu bar. You can now scroll the
bottom half of the grid either horizontally or vertically and the panel in
the upper left corner (showing the range A1

5) will not scroll. Does that
do what you want?
