After downloading the Beta of Office 2007 - I cannot use the search function?
It won't look up contact names in contacts, it won't find names for people
that have been on my calendar, I can't search emails.

Help. Anyone else having this issue? How to resolve?

Are you also using the Windows Desktop Search add-in?

Assuming you installed WDS 3, you need to give it time to index your
stuff. Leave your computer running with Outlook over night and try again
then.

The Search function in both Oulook 2007 and OneNote 2007 does NOT return
results that it should - usually its zero results or only what is on the page
when you inititiate the Search.

I have seen some posts that say "Go to Control Panel"/Indexing Options and
"rebuild. When I click on Indexing options - a screen comes up that says
"waiting for status update" and then sits there forever.

What can i do to get a clean start in this area?

Does clicking on advanced and then rebuild do anything? If not, remove
wds3 and reinstall.
