search component fails

This has been a problem that I have never been able to fix. I have a web and
a subweb. If I use the "insert-web component- web search" to put a search
form into either my web or my subweb, using the search form will always
return a " the server's page not found page". See below. This same thing
happens with a discussion formum where post, etc. all work except "search".

With the server version in frontpage i recalculated the hyperlinks (nothing
shows up as a problem that points to this problem). However, if I view the
component report it says in that the "search" component both in the web
search form and in the search form for a discussion formum, contains a page
with an unknown frontpage component "search".

I have never been able to fix this, all other components that use extensions
(like site counter) work fine, I publish with http NOT ftp- any ideas on the
problem or even how to better diagnose it???

many thanks!

What OS is the server that your site is hosted on ?

Have you contacted your web host for help?

Thanks for the reply,

I will be back in the US next month and I think i will wait until then so
that i can chat with them on the phone. Last time I tried to do this it was
difficult to do by email. Last time I did contact them all I remember is that
the OS was OK and they tried all sorts of stuff and search would still not
work- and I gave up. If I remember right it happend when I converted my web
to 2003- though I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Thanks and I hope you can help me in July!
