Search Component

I'm using FP 2002. Will the Search Component allow a visitor to search
through sub webs? I can't find anything in Help. Thanks.

No. You would have to have the search component in each subweb.
Unless you are hosted on a Windows IIS server, where your host can configure
your web to use index server, and build a custom catalog. You would need to
ask them about it.

Not sure about that, but my web host would not allow search component use
because of security issues. I found another search for main / subwebs.

Only if the search component has been created in the subweb. The search
component is limited to searching only the files within the web it is
created in, and will exclude any files that are in a folder the begins with
an underscore.
