Search engine in Office 2007

We want to build an Enterprise search engine which will search
in all the documents and databases of an enterprise. I heard that Office
2007 comes with such a feature. Can this be integrated with an ASP.NET /
Windows application using some SDK ?

You must be thinking of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS).
Search capabilities are fully exposed for custom development with the
published SDK.
