search engine not reading websites meta taqs

I also seems that they are beginning to ignore meta tags with misspelled words and "contrived"
keywords.

hi I ran an tag analysis with submitnet it is below, you can click on the
link to see it. As you can see it does not read any of the key words. I was
wondering why.

http://www.submitnet.net/tool-keywordanalysis-897720/default/Meta Tag
Current Content

the url is http://therebelcook.com/

The keywords and description are listed below
Title welcome to the rebel cook

Keywords Rebel Cook,Rebel Housewife,Vicki Todd,Cook,Recipe,Sherri
Caldwell,Vicki Roos,humor,to heck with domestic bliss

Description The Rebel Cook will share her favorite recipes, tips and
secrets to becoming a great cook and a gracious hostess--so join her and
explore the cook in you!

All key words are listed on the page.

Thanks for your help
vicki

This is not a FP issue, as you meta tag are entered correctly. I would separate them with a space
instead of a comma.

Actually, the tags are entered prior to the <head>, which is incorrect:

"<html>
<Title>welcome to the rebel cook</Title>
<META Name="revisit-after" Content="30 Days">
<META Name="Description" Content="The Rebel Cook will share her favorite
recipes, tips and secrets to becoming a great cook and a gracious
hostess--so join her and explore the cook in you!">
<META Name="Keywords" Content="Rebel Cook,Rebel Housewife,Vicki
Todd,Cook,Recipe,Sherri Caldwell,Vicki Roos,humor,to heck with domestic
bliss">
<META Name="Author" Content="vicki roos">

<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
charset=windows-1252">
<title>welcome to the rebel cook</title>
<style fprolloverstyle>A:hover {color: #D20000; font-weight: bold}
</style>
</head>"

Move that <head> declaration to the line directly below <html>.

Re-write the title so that it contains search terms people might use to
find you -- the title is the most important of the meta tags these days.

Delete the line that says <META Name="revisit-after" Content="30
Days"> -- this tells the spiders not to bother returning for a month.
It's not clear that bots pay any attention to this any more but if they
did you might well be reducing the frequency of spidering your site and
that is bad SEO.

I disagree with Thomas regarding the comma versus space issue -- the
keywords meta tag has limited value now but if you include it go for
phrases rather than single words and by separate them with commas. Then
choose for your keywords search terms people will actually use to find
you.

Good catch, I didn't even look at the head or HTML tag.

The comma takes up a character, that is why I don't use it, since at one point you had to watch the
total number of characters in your keyword tag.

So does a space.

When I first started dealing with search engines, the space was not counted, but a comma was counted
as towards the total number of characters that you could have in your keyword tag.

Aren't the keywords supposed to individual words separated by commas and not phrases separated by
commas??

There are several methods that are acceptable. In the past, I simply used
the works without commas, and just spaces, so phrases could be formed. But,
like Murray says "who cares?"...keywords are pretty much a thing of the
past.
