search engines

Is there anything that I can do to submit my website to search engines or do
I need to pay somebody to do that? If I need to pay for the service, does
anybody have reccomendations.

If you have a site that is already listed, simply put a link on it to your
new site and wait for the spiders to come around. Some search engines prefer
to discover their own material and will index it sooner than submissions
directly to their site.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=submit+your+site+for+free
Or, there are various software packages that do submissions.
