Search Filters in file open

Dave A

I try to do a search to find a file to open and I get the following message
in Word 2000 Professional.

Filters required to perform this search could not be installed.

I can not find this filter or option on the install disk? Any suggestions?

Hi Dave,

You can get this one in Office 2000 for a couple of different reasons. If you're on Windows 2000 or Windows XP be sure that in
Word, in Help=>About the version shows either SR1 or SR2. Those two versions of Windows work with Windows Search Indexing rather
than the discontinued Office 'Find Fast' filtering. If on Windows 95, 98 or ME then you may want to look at the link at the bottom
of this article as well.

Bob,

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the SR-1 as well as the service packs
and that fixed my problem.

Thanks again.
