search for word perfect documents

When I run a search using a Windows XP machine, only the
files with the extention .doc come out. How come
the .wpd don't come out? How can you search for Word
perfect files through XP?

That depends on how you do your searches. If you just
search for documents in the Windows XP search feature, it
defaults to only Microsoft based product results (like
Word documents, Excel Workbooks, etc.).

If you'd like to search for Word Perfect documents, try
searching using the All Files and Folders option with the
search criteria of "*.wpd" (no quotes). This will find
all Word Perfect documents. Further narrow down your
search in the Look In dropdown if you need to.
