search page error

I used to have the search page on my site and worked fine with my previous
host. Now doesn't work with my current host. They cannot help me so here I
am asking if anyone knows how to go about solving the problem. I enter the
search term and press enter and i get the page with a error 404 file or
directory not found.

What have I done wrong?

Depends on your host OS
On a Windows host they need to create an Index Catalog
