Search results bring pg back to top

I have a website that has category index page, that also
includes a search feature component (below the index).
When I search for an item, the page will go back to the
top (where the index is). The user has to scroll down to
the results for every search. Is it possible to make so
that the user doen't have to scroll down to the results ?
Is there code for "goto to line" ? Is it possible to put a
link to a tag on this page ?

Any feedback or direction will be appreciated.
