Hi Gregg,

Any idea if we can create search feature using custom tools or do you know
if a search tool is available in internet as freeware?

You can have a look to GrooveIT! for My
Documents.(http://solutions.hommesetprocess.com/grooveit/grooveit-for-my-documents)
It provide you with:

1 - an add-on for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, that allows you to search for
documents stored in your groove workspaces
directly from within the application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The search is cross-workspaces and based on document name, status
(read/unread), author and modification date. Please note that it do not
provide full text indexation / search.

2 - a standalone appplication that allows you to search for document stored
in your Groove workspaces and launch several action.
For example :
- open document,
- open workspace in which the document is stored,
- publish document in another workspace,
- ...

The search is cross-workspaces and based on document name, status
(read/unread), author, modification date, your role in the workspace, and
contact(s) you share the document with. Please note that it do not provide
full text indexation / search.

The product provide search but has also other useful features
A free trial is available. Do not hesitate to give it a try.

If you're using a File Sharing Workspace in Vista, vista will index
everything. However, if you have a Standard Workspace, Vista cannot read it
as it is encrypted. Check these guys out - http://www.groovydesk.com/ I
used their product before, can't remember if I had 3.1 workspaces or 2007,
but it was not too bad. Another option is look here -

I believe both Mark Smith and Ashok Hingorani have some free products that
do some limited searching of Groove workspaces, although I think it will only
be filenames. The groovydesk product I believe will look inside the files
for keywords. Both Mark and Ashok post in this forum. Lookup their old
posts.
