Searching error

I recently reinstalled Office 20007 Standard and now cannot Search, although
I think I could do so at first, ater the reinstall. I get a message saying
that Instant search encountered a problem...etc.

I have run Scanpst on my data file to no avail and cannot solve this. Can
anyone help me please?

Not for at least another 20 millennia, when Outlook 20007 will be released.
Until then, I'd read the many posts here that already address your question,
like this one for instance:

Very funny - and very observant.!. I will go through that file but can
already see that I have taken the initial steps

I have been through the file you indicated, Russ, and have had no success.
When I go to Control Panel|Indexing Options, there is nothing in the box and
all the buttons at the bottom, including Advanced, are greyed out.

Then you have a question about your operating system and how to install and
configure Indexing in your operating system.

Apparently so, and I gather that you are implying that I go elsewhere? This
is a new clean install of the OS!

Indexing is an OS function, not an Outlook function. You haven't even
mentioned which OS you are using. There will be ample documentation in the
KB for your question.
