Searching on part criteria

Have based an InfoPath form on an AccessDB and want users to query the DB
from the infopath form by entering part criteria. I would want it to work
similiarly to say - Like "*" & [Enter the first few letters of the Blah] &
"*" - that you would enter in the criteria row in an MSAccess query design
grid.

Everything I've read suggests that InfoPath does not have the functionality
I'm looking for. ie To retrieve data on a part entry of a data field. eg The
data within a field is 'Agenda', entering 'Agen' within the field and running
the query will not return the record - it has to be 'Agenda'.

Have considered drop down solutions but much too clunky for the data in
question. Am I looking at a code solution here (in which case I'll need to
wait on the developers) or is there a work-round?

Unfortunately, you cannot do this without code in InfoPath 2003. If there is
a workaround, I haven't found it yet.
