Hello! I have a primary inbox setup on MS Exchange Server and have ownership
of a secondary "general mailbox" on the same server which is a general box
for our department. I have setup some rules to auto-run on this second
mailbox but they won't auto-run...according to posts I've read in these
forums, only the primary mailbox can auto-run rules. So is there a way to
create a script that will auto-run on the secondary "general mailbox" for our
department?
- The first rule regards a specific email we get each week and the subject
line is always the same. I have it auto-forward to a specific distribution
list and then delete the email.
- The second rule regards all other messages and just forwards a copy to me
(keeps the original in the general mailbox so that I may respond from that
mailbox if needed).

Many thanks.

You can set up server side rules - you'll need to open the mailbox in its
own profile and create the rules. As long as they are not identified as
client side rules, they will run with outlook closed.
