second question about email problem

bill and terrimailbox

On another email account that I use -- which is also AT&T worldnet email account. I can send but not receive email; what is the trouble here? the error message I receive is: Unknown error, please save any exisitng work & restart program. error number: 0x800ccc1a

Turn off SSL for your account settings.
On your account settings choose button More Settings-> tab Advanced

I don't think that will work, Roady - as I recall, AT&T *requires* SSL.

I assume you have Outlook 2002, but have not applied any service packs.
This was a problem in the originally released version of Outlook, which uses
the Internet standard way of making a secure connection. AT&T uses an older
non-standard method, and somehow we didn't enable that in Outlook. SP-1 of
Outlook should fix the problem.
