Secondary Timesheet Manager

My Management would like the ability to forward timesheets to a secondary
approver should the primary be out of the office. I do not see the option to
do this. Is this function available in 2007 and where do I find it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The functionality you seek does not exist in Project Server 2007, but there
is a workaround. First of all, your Project Server administrator must make
sure that all people who can approve timesheets are members of the Resource
Managers group in PWA. Then the Project Server administrator needs to do
the following as well:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions.
2. Click Server Settings - Timesheet Settings and Default link in the Time
and Task Management section of the page.
3. Deselect the "Fixed Approval Routing" option (if it is selected) and
then click the Save button.

To route the Timesheet to an alternate timesheet approver in the absence of
the regular timesheet approver, you must teach your team members how to do
the following:

1. Fill out the Timesheet and click the Save and Submit button.
2. In the Submit Timesheet dialog, click the Browse button.
3. In the Pick Resource dialog, double-click the name of the alternate
timesheet approver.
4. Click the OK button.

Obviously this is a training and performance issue, but I think it might
come close to satisfying your alternate timesheet approver need. Hope this
helps.

Dots, Dale has responded to your post as well. He is the man who wrote the
article I have sent you previously. That should do the trick for you :)

Marc and Dots --

We moved our WSS site that hosts Project Server Experts, and somehow the
relevant article got lost in the transition. Dots, if you can send me an
e-mail, I will send you the FAQ directly. I won't have time to repost it on
our Project Server Experts site until later this week.
