Securing MDE Files

Hello Everybody

I am currently using MS Office 200 Professional, SR-1. I
originally raised concerns about MDE files not preventing
users from importing/exporting Tables, Queries ADP's and
Macros on the 16th April in this Workgroup (Securing MDE
Files).

Will an updated Service Pack resolve this issue, taking
into account the points that I raised in the original
bulletin?

Many Thanks For Your Help.

Not sure but there may be a way to prevent users from opening the database window. Thus preventing them from using the tool bars. You can also disallow the use of the standard toolbars. Prior to creating the MDE file, take a look at Tools, Startup. You can do the following
Un check the "Display Database Window" check box
Un Check the "Allow Full Menus" check box. (Build a custom one and apply it to all forms and reports.
Un check the "Allow Built-in Tool bars" check box. (Create a custom one if you need to allow users the ability to create reports or queries)
Un Check the "Allow Toolbar/menu Changes" check box

Then create the MDE file

Try That.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm already doing this...

My concerns are that user can import/export Tables,
Queries and Macros to and from MDE Files. In order to
achieve 100% Security on MDE Applications and Data, I need
to know how to disable this feature.

You can't do it without implementing security with a workgroup file, which
you said you don't want to do.
