Security and attachments

I'm biting the bullet and (maybe) instaling Office XP SP3 and Win XP SR2. I
keep reading about people unable to open their attachments after upgrading.
My business depends on receiving attachments , normally EXcel, Word, Power
Point, PDF and Projects. Should I upgrade? So far I've avoided viruses by
detailed use of Anti-Virus, firewall and Spyware. Plus i'm modem and never
stay on line any longer than necessary and only accept e-mail from names i
know. Are the upgrades going to be more trouble than they are worth as
regards attachments.

No, receiving attachments isn't an issue with your type of files. You can
always ask people to always send you zip-files. This will also help you
getting your mails faster as you are on a modem.
