I am attempting to open some .mdb files which have been posted to a newsgroup. When I click on the file in the newsgroup, I receive the message: "Microsoft Access cannot open this file. This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network location." I then save the file to my hard drive and try to open it, but I receive the same message. This happens with several different .mdb files. I have tried restarting Access, using Detect and Repair, and rebooting, all with the same results. I am using Access 2002.

I also believe that there may be a problem caused by WinXP's SP2. I'm not 100% positive about this one, but I think that IE in SP2 adds a header to files that are downloaded to be able to later pop-up warnings. If the mdb files are zipped first then you down load the zip files, the extracted files should work without a problem.
