When I open a word file that has already been created I
get the following message.
C:\...\file name.doc is being used by Second Computer. Do
you want to make a copy?
If I cancel it lets me do whatever I want. If I click OK
it takes me to the file but I cannot find a copy of it
anywhere.
I am running XP. I had a win 95 computer that I copied my
files from but this happens with new docs I create.
How do I stop this from happening?

This may be that you have a mass of abandoned temp files littering your
computer or it may be NAV. If you have NAV, make sure that the Office
Plug-in option is disabled in NAV options settings.

If it is abandoned temp files, see these documents to guide you in cleaning
up your computer:
