Hi, I'm having trouble understanding the steps to secure my data bases. I'm
using access 2000 and following the steps in 'Access 97/2000 Security Step by
Step'
I responded the following:
Step #1 choose a location and name- C
ROGRA`1\MICROS`4\Office\WGName.MDW
Step #2 confirmation - I confirmed
Step #3 open Access - I opened Access
Step #4 go to tool, secrity .... - I went to tools, security, user and group
accts
Step #5 users tab create new user - I created "Administrator"
Step #6 Add the Admins Group to this user -how exactly is this done? I may
have goofed here.
Step #7 Choose the Admin user in dropdown list and remove them from the
Admins Group - how exactly is this done? I may have goofed here.
Step #8 go to change logon password and enter a password - I entered a 6
position password
Step #9 close Access - I closed Access.
Now I can't get into Access and the message is "Not a valid account name or
password" when I try to logon. Thanks for your help. I need to get in the
data base every day to update files so I hope this is a quick fix. I have
backed-up copies.
